MPs who do Give as You Earn

Request

1. How many MPs are signed up to the give as you earn scheme, and from what parties are they from?

2. Are SNP MPs paying English or Scottish income tax rates on their salaries and could you supply a list of each one and what country they are paying rates in?

Response

There are 13 Members of Parliament signed up through IPSA's payroll to make a donation through the Give-As-You-Earn scheme.

They are members of the Conservative, Labour and Scottish National Parties. MPs can, of course, donate to charities through other methods, including setting up a direct debit themselves for GAYE.

We can confirm that, at the time of this response, all Scottish National Party MSPs are paying Scottish rates of income tax.
