Main residence of Scottish MPs

Request

Of those MPs who have been elected in Scotland, how many have a Scottish address listed as their main residence, and how many list their main residence as elsewhere?

Response

When new MPs are elected, we are required to ask them to provide a personal postal address for payroll-related purposes which we share with HMRC. We do not establish however if this is their “main residence” because it is not necessary for our purposes to record this information.

Therefore in accordance with section 1 of the Act, we confirm that we cannot provide the information requested because it is not held by this Authority.
