Mike Hill, MP's business costs
Request
It's been confirmed by IPSA that Mr. Hill claimed £6,000 from his Office Costs Budget in legal fees in March 2021.
And that the House of Commons provides Employers Liability Insurance for MPs and IPSA will pay the excess on this insurance as part of an MP’s business costs.
However, I wanted to confirm whether the £6000 paid to Hudgell Solicitors in legal fees was used to fund Mr. Hill's legal defence in his attempt to clear his name after he violated Parliament's sexual misconduct policy.
Response
We can confirm that this is the case.
