Welcome to our new website

We are pleased to welcome you to the new website for the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority. 

We are a strong and independent regulator that regulates, administers and publishes the business costs and decides the pay and pensions of the 650 UK MPs and their staff.  

Our website helps us perform our duty to inform and assure the public that MPs’ use of taxpayers’ money is well-regulated and that MPs are resourced effectively to carry out their parliamentary duties.

To support the development of the site we worked with users to understand their needs and objectives when they visit. 

Our audience includes members of the public and the media, as well as MPs and their staff, and each group has different needs.

Our mission is to deliver the information each audience needs in a simple, user-friendly and easy-to-navigate way. 

Transparent delivery 

Our site has been developed so you can learn about who we are as an organisation, why we exist, and the work we do on behalf of the public.  

Our work is complex and sensitive, but it is essential that we are open about how we manage our work to help the public understand how taxpayers’ money is spent.

To support this, we have improved our systems so we can deliver information efficiently and securely, and in a way that allows you to view and interpret our data. 

We have made improvements to the ways you can search across Freedom of Information responses, and we have created guides on how you can submit requests.
