IPSA publishes Annual Report and Accounts 2017-18 and other reports
Date published: 20 July 2018
IPSA has published its Annual Report and Accounts for 2017-18. The report covers the key activities undertaken by IPSA during the financial year 2017-18. The full report can be viewed on the IPSA website.
Also included is a separate report by the Compliance Officer for IPSA which details the work undertaken by his office during the financial year.
Every year, IPSA asks MPs and staff to answer questions about IPSA’s service. In 2017-18 IPSA also interviewed a number of MPs and their staff about the 2017 General Election and the service provided by IPSA. These reports are both available on the IPSA website.
IPSA has also published a revised edition of its Publication Policy which sets out what IPSA will and will not publish about MPs’ business costs and expenses.
Following a public consultation held between 10 May and 15 June 2018, we have confirmed our decisions taken last year, in light of increased security concerns, not to publish information about the places MPs travel to or from when they claim for mileage nor the names of landlords from whom MPs rent properties.
For the same security reasons, we will stop publishing the first part of the postcode for properties rented by MPs.
The revised Publication Scheme also contains a minor amendment to clarify that purchases made by MPs through suppliers who are paid directly by IPSA are also published.
