Request about guidance to MPs on homeworking during the pandemic

Request

I have read the published bulletins and advice regarding the implementation of the lockdown and the measures taken to enable home working. Please could you answer the following questions:

1. The advice from the Government was to work from home and avoid all travel unless absolutely necessary. What is considered necessary travel for constituency MPs under this advice? 2. It’s suggested from your FAQs on coronavirus that some MPs may not need to home work. In what circumstances would an MP not be expected to work from home? Please provide a copy of the guidance relating to this. 3. Please provide copies of any detailed advice from the Government to IPSA regarding home working for MPs and their staff

I cannot find this information on your website but if I have missed it, I apologise and politely ask for a link to it. If I’m enquiring to the wrong public body on any of these questions, if you know which body I should ask, please signpost me to the right place. I thank you for your time and look forward to your response.

Response

IPSA does not hold any of the information you have requested as it does not make the policy or issue guidance on MPs and their working practices during the pandemic.

The UK Parliament has a section called “Changes due to COVID-19” which may have the answers you require.
