IPSA's annual user survey responses

Request

Please could I be supplied with the free text responses from the recent survey carried out for Ipsa.

The responses can be anonymous, but if possible should identify whether they came from an MP or member of staff etc.

Response

IPSA holds the information that you request.

Since 2012, IPSA has carried out an Annual User Survey of MPs, which is intended to capture a range of opinions and feedback, allowing IPSA to have a better understanding of the needs of our users. MPs’ staff, who are also regular users of our systems, are also invited to take part.

In addition to questions where MPs and their staff were asked to rate different aspects of our services, they were also invited to give more detailed feedback on areas where they feel we could improve, through a number of free-text fields.

A report on the key findings of the survey is available on our website, which includes summaries of the results, alongside details of all of the questions asked. Access this information.

Please click here to view, at Annex A, a copy of all the free text responses received, broken down by the category of respondent.

While this information is provided anonymously, we have redacted a small number of the responses where individuals may be identified or the release may lead to the identification of individuals, under section 40 of the FOIA. Section 40(2) provides that personal data about third parties is exempt information if one of the conditions set out in section 40(3) is satisfied. Under the FOI Act disclosure of this information would breach the fair processing principle (Principle 1) of the Data Protection Act 1998 (DPA), where it would be unfair to those persons or is confidential.
