Claim by John Bercow MP for attendance at a funeral

Request

I would like, under the Freedom of Information Act, to request details of the reported claims for attendance allowance for Commons Speaker John Bercow to attend the funeral of a former MP in Manchester.

I would like to know:

  1. the basis on which such an activity qualifies as work-related relevant to expenses claims

  2. who were the two accompanying persons, what was their function on this occasion, and how were their expenses justified

  3. what was the purpose of the reported travel around Manchester by car and taxi at a cost of approximately £500

Response
