Directorships help by MPs
Request
Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, I am seeking information on the directorships held by Members of Parliament for the last 5 years up until the time this request is answered.
Please could you list the directorships by MPs name, the dates from which they have been held, and any information on payment and hours involved.
Response
The Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA) is the body created by Parliament under the Parliamentary Standards Act 2009 to independently oversee and regulate MPs’ expenses. IPSA has two main roles: regulating the business costs and expenses system and administering and paying MPs’ expenses, pay and pensions.
As such, IPSA does not hold information on the private affairs of Members of Parliament.
However, for ease, some of the information you request may be available in the Register of Members’ Financial Interests, which is separately administered by the House of Commons. You can view copies of the Register via this link: http://www.publications.parliament.uk/pa/cm/cmregmem.htm
For more information relating to the Register of Members’ Financial Interests, you may wish to contact the House of Commons FOI team, via the following email address: FOICommons@parliament.uk.
