Peter Hain MP's original office rental contract and valuation

Request

Peter Hain MP rents his current constituency office from the Neath Constituency Labour Party. The office address is 39 Windsor Road, Neath SA11 1NB.

His latest (current) licence agreement was drawn up in 2010. You have kindly provided me with a copy of this document via a previous FoI application, No F1314-193.

However, there must be an earlier, original agreement (either another licence or a lease) because under the old Green Book rules, MPs have to provide Parliament's Department of Finance and Administration with a copy of their office agreement, a valuation, and where they rent from a political party, a copy of any agreement for services provision at the premises. Mr Hain has been at these premises since at least 2004 because there are records in that year of rental payments made to the Neath Constituency Labour Party under the former IEP allowance for MPs. I suspect he was not at the premises many years before 2004 but I hope that helps you to narrow down any records search.

Under the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act I would be obliged if you would supply me with:

1.A copy of the first (original) licence or lease agreement that would have been submitted to the Department of Finance and Administration when Mr Hain first moved into the premises. If there is a sketch or block plan of the premises could this be provided too?

  1. A copy of the original valuation for the rent of the premises, again supposed to have been submitted to the Department of Finance and Administration when he moved into the premises.

  2. A copy of any agreement for services between Mr Hain and his constituency party.

We do not hold details of any agreement for services between Mr Hain and his constituency party, other than any agreements which may exist within the lease, which has already been provided.
