MPs taking time off

Dear Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority, can an mp just take time off with pay to go onto a television fly on the wall show, and shouldnt any money earned in such an outside belong to the tax payer, and should they take such time off who is designated to sact on behalf of their constituents

I can confirm that IPSA does not hold the information that you request.

IPSA is responsible for the administration of MPs’ expense claims and for the payment of MPs’ parliamentary salaries. Leave arrangements are not administered by IPSA and likewise, any earnings from outside employment or activities are not regulated by IPSA, but by the House of Commons. Members of Parliament are responsible the organisation of their own offices and staff, including cover arrangements.
