Details of claims for travel via easyJet

Request

I am writing to make a Freedom of Information request regarding MPs' travel. Since 17 September, easyJet has had a preferred partnership deal with parliamentary travel management firm Hillgate.

I would like to know:

  1. How many MPs have made claims for easyJet flights during September and October;

  2. How many peers have made claims for easyJet flights during September and October.

Response

IPSA holds some of the information that you request.

We publish details of MPs’ claims for expenses on our website.  In preparing our response to you, we carried out an additional check to ensure that the information relating to easyJet flights booked via Hillgate travel is available.  You may view the published information by visiting our publication website.

The FOIA states that information that is accessible by other means is not subject to release.  Therefore, as the information you have requested is already available on our website it is exempt from disclosure under section 21 of the FOIA (information accessible to applicant by other means).

Details of claims for expenses are published in a two month cycle, three months in arrears. The next publication date for expense claims is Thursday 10 January 2013.

IPSA is not the responsible authority for making payments to Peers.  For Information relating to this, you may wish to contact the House of Lords FOI team at the following email address: foilords@parliament.uk.
