Details of any MPs with private medical insurance

Request

In the spirit of transparency and the freedom of information principles would you please advise as to the percentage of MPs who have private medical insurance?  Along with this information could you please advise as to who pays for the cover.  If you reply by saying that such cover is deemed to be a legitimate expense and as such is covered under the MPs expenses system can you please quantify as to why.

Response

IPSA does not hold the information that you request.

Under the MPs’ Scheme of Business Costs and Expenses, MPs are not able to make claims for private medical insurance.  We currently do not have any MPs that make voluntary contributions to private medical insurance via the payroll.
