Attendance at IPSA's Board meetings

Request

You specifically requested: “the percentage breakdown of attendance of meetings for all IPSA meetings in the last 12 months between actual physical attendance and by telephone”.  In the subject line of your email you specify that this request relates to “attendance of IPSA Board meetings”.

Response

IPSA holds the information that you request.

The attendance of IPSA Board meetings can be viewed by looking at the minutes of IPSA Board meetings, which are regularly published on our website.  The minutes for 2011-12 are all available by visiting the following link to our website.

However, your convenience, please find attached at Annex A aggregated statistics – which will also appear in IPSA’s 2011-2012 annual report – providing the information you have requested.  As with boards across the public and private sectors, conference calls are a well-established and routine part of working life for IPSA’s Board. Indeed, they can be better value for money and be more environmentally friendly where (as with IPSA’s Board) board members have other employments. Ordinary members of our Board work approximately 2 – 3 days per month, and our Chair works approximately 2 – 3 days per week.

The aggregate participation in meetings of our Board in the financial year 2011-12 was 93% - which, we believe, compares favourably with the boards of similar public bodies.
