Claims for legal expenses incurred by Bob Russell

Request

  1. Whether Mr Russell is entitled to claim reimbursement from the House for his legal expenses incurred in defending the case in 2010 and 2011.

  2. Whether he has made claims and if so to have the details.

  3. What documentary evidence exists of such claims and are you able to copy this to me, please?

Response

I can confirm that IPSA does not hold the information you have requested in points 1 – 3 listed above. IPSA became operational on 7 May 2010 and as the proceedings began before this date we would not hold information in relation to this matter. If any public funds are being spent on Mr Russell’s representation they do not stem from IPSA.

I would advise that your request should be redirected to the House of Commons FOI Team who may be able to assist you with your request. I have attached the link to the Freedom of Information section on the House of Commons website, which will assist you with your enquiry http://www.parliament.uk/site-information/foi/foi-general/commons-foi/.
