Details of MPs employing family members
Request
a list of MPs who have put a family member on the payroll
the total salary paid to family members in each case
Response
For each MP, IPSA will publish the names and salaries of staff who are connected parties on its publication website www.parliamentary-standards.org.uk in July 2011. Salaries will be expressed in £5,000 bands. This information is therefore exempt under Section 22 (Information intended for future publication) of the FOIA.
Please note that a “connected party” is defined as: a spouse, civil partner or cohabiting partner of the MP; a parent, child, grandparent, grandchild, sibling, uncle, aunt, nephew or niece of the member or of a spouse, civil partner or cohabiting partner of the member; or an individual or organisation where there exists a relationship as set out in the Companies Act 2006.
