Information relating to the publishing of MPs? staff salaries.
I can confirm that IPSA sought the views of the Information Commissioner on IPSA’s intention to publish anonymised staff salary figures and the names of connected parties as we are required to do so by the Parliamentary Standards Act 2009.
A copy of the Information Commissioner’s response to our Consultation on Publication can be found on the IPSA website (www.parliamentarystandards.org.uk) under the Publications section of the website. The document can be found under the following subheadings:
June 2010 Consultations> Consultation on Publication> Consultation Responses > Information Commissioner
You also requested any statistical or other analysis of the responses to the Consultation on Publication undertaken by IPSA in June 2010. A report on the outcome of IPSA’s Consultation on Publication is also available under the Publications section of the IPSA website. This can be found as follows:
June 2010 Consultations> Consultation on Publication> IPSA Report
This report looks at the consultation proposal, a summary of the responses and IPSA’s position, taking into consideration the responses received.
The information you have requested is therefore exempt under Section 21 (Information accessible to applicant by other means) of the Freedom of Information Act, because it is accessible to you, as it is already in the public domain.
